Has anybody sent their young child (or older children) to this camp? I'd love any feedback if so, since I'm thinking of sending my 3, 7 and 8 year olds there this summer for one-two weeks. Thanks.

...the owner, terry tenzing, was there the week my kids went. she is absolutely amazing with the children and has tons of experience with all types of kids including developmentally challenged children. it is a great experience to have that kind of interaction with the animals, and gives the kids a great sense of accomplishment and pride as they are given a lot of responsibility. we are big fans!
It is an awesome camp, I sent my 5 year old for a week and she LOVED, still wants to go back! They are really kind, fun things for the kids to do. The drive isn't even a big deal, I carpooled with another mom a couple of days and that helped too.
My 4 year old went last week for two days and loved it!!! The children were able to play with the bunnies and ducks as well as collect the eggs which my daughter especially thought was cool. They only really ride the ponies for a short time however.

The "farmers" were great with the kids. We will be sending our daughter again this summer for a couple days.
I sent my 3-year old there during the first week this year. It is a wonderful and special place. The camp director is great with all ages of kids, as are the counselors. It is a perfect place for kids to get a real taste of farm life.
My daughter was one of the lucky kids that went a few weeks ago on the BMC offer. It was the week directly after nursery school was out for her. She is 5. I cannot say enough fabulous things about Terry Tenzing & pony camp....

Hi Terry!

We LOVED pony camp – so much fun! Thanks so much for having this camp and for giving my daughter such a wonderful opportunity and experience – she was smiling ear to ear over it! We are VERY interested in Pony Camp for Spring Break.

I will be in touch about a petting zoo for Mia’s birthday –

We’ll be in touch – again, thanks! Stevie (Mia’s mom)

Hi Terry,

Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed Beautiful Boy. He is such a gentle pony and all the kids loved getting a ride and feeding him a few mini carrots and apple slices. Thanks for making Mena's party such a special event.

Kind regards, Carrol

Dear Werner,

Hello, my name is Lisa P., and Terry of Friendly Pony Parties ask that I write you as a reference. My daughter, Bella, who is now 6, has gone to pony camp the last 2 summers, as well as some camps during holiday breaks. My son, who will be 3 in September, has gotten to spend time with me at camp, and will get to be a camper for the first time this year! Clearly, we love Terry's camps. The ponies and other animals are gentle and sweet, and the volunteers are great. The overall focus is on building the children's confidence. The activities are so fun for the kids, and the time is paced with breaks for quiet activities or snacks so the day is not overwhelming. My kids were just talking yesterday about how they can't wait for pony camp! I'd be happy to speak with you if you'd like.

Happy planning, and best regards, Lisa P.

Hi Terry, just want to thank you again for today! What a delightful morning for these children. You were so flexible and patient with all of the kids. Enjoy the photo's, thought you might like to see the kids having so much fun! We will call you next year, and I have referred you once already to a friend, and I will continue to in the future. With gratitude, Sharon from Orinda

Terry's response:

Thank you so much for forwarding these to me. It warms my heart. Thank you for having me again. I would love to include a few of them on our website...especially the one of the young man in the wheel chair patting the rabbit and smiling and the pig looking up at the mother and child....they are priceless....and to me reflect my hopes of the joy and feeling of happiness and goodwill our animals bring to children just by being who they are. They are beautiful photos... Do you think I would be able to use those two photos and mention your school? Thank you for the referral as well. So much of my business comes to me that way and it makes it even more lovely.

I appreciate you having me out again this year.

With gratitude to you for the opportunity to be reminded always of how fortunate I am to be in this business.

Hello Terry -

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed meeting "Beautiful Boy" and how wonderful your team was. Many, many thanks for making our daughters birthday party so special!

Best wishes to you - Judy C. from San Bruno

Hi Terry,

Avery and Max had such a wonderful time yesterday--thank you so very much. We are all still walking on air a little over those baby goats. I know you see farm babies that small all the time, but for us it was very unique and heartwarming.

The day that Avery and Max would like to "shadow" you is Saturday, May 3rd. Does that day work for you? Rich imagines that he'd like to start at 9am and finish around 2. What sorts of things would you all do together? Could Olivia give Avery a riding lesson on Daisy? How much would you charge?

I'm going to send the Palo Alto Menlo Park Mothers' Club (a big, huge club with a big, huge e-mail list) a note about your camps. Anything special you'd like me to mention? Do you have openings for most of the summer, or are certain weeks booked up?

Thanks again!
